End of the year

Remembering the lovely moments of 2005, (May 2005, Naarden, The Netherlands)

I was at a meeting today, a very important meeting with The World Bank staff here in Sarajevo and I caught myself daydreaming and for a moment getting flashbacks of all the stuff that has happened this year.
Remembering the last 12 months, I can honestly say I had the time of my life. This year was simply incredible.
12 months ago, I was elected the President of AIESEC in Bosnia and Herzegovina. From then on everything seems to be going so well...

I have so many things to be thankful for and during this meeting at the WB I just had so many movie clips of me in 2005 inside my head, playing ... me travelling, me singing, dancing, smiling, being happy...
I came to a conclusion, this has been the best year of all...

I have learned so much, met so many people, opened many new doors, seen so many new countries, adopted new perspectives...changed as a person...

I can't wait for the year 2006. I hope it is at least as half as good as this one was. I will put 100% into making it even better than this.

I smiled and woke up from my daydream just in time to hear someone from the staff talk about the anti-corruption projects in the region...

It's going to be another amazing year!

Snowy Sarajevo

A view from my AIESEC office

Outside the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo..

Sarajevo is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to. One of the best things about it is the tranquility of its appearance. It has a river that goes through it, right through the middle, called Miljacka. It has four gorgeous Olympic mountains surrounding it.

For those who don’t know. Sarajevo hosted the 1984. Winter Olympic Games.

The thing I love about the city the most though are not just the kind people, calm life style and pretty Turkish café bars…

… it is the snow during the winter.

This morning I woke up to find the city in a perfect peaceful setting.

I have the chance to live on the top of one of the few mountains inside the city and see the centre from my balcony. You can only imagine my smile this morning.

Sarajevo looks like a city from a fairytale as one of my close friends from Prague would put it. It looks so clean and calm, so innocent.. I suppose it’s like anything in white…

The snow melts quickly but at the moment there is more than 2 meters of snow in the mountains (only 20mins by car from the centre). This will be a perfect skiing season.

Even though it gets something like -20 degrees C the weather is charming and soooo romantic. You get to wear lots of wooly jumpers and matching scarves, gloves and hats. You have to wear big knee high boots and learn how to walk on the ice which gets up to 20 cm thickness on the pavements.

The first year I moved here in 1999. I kept falling all over the place, learning how to walk like a penguin. Now I managed another skill.

I can’t wait for more snow and the winter to officially begin.

Single and Fabulous

Me being happy :)

After a few conferences, parties, exams and job offers, I have finally come to my senses and figured out that i have to get my degree as soon as possible and move on.

I am in a weird stage of my life right now, I am litterally on a crossroad of my life. I have been focusing on myself quite a lot reciently, after all the trips, job tasks, formal cocktails and conferences.

I am half way through my term, looking for a traineeship, gaining back my confidence in love, keeping in touch with old friends and having the best time of my life.

I have to admit, i have been partying a lot reciently, but this is only because winter is coming (and I love winter, specially winter in Sarajevo). I am also studying a lot, passing my exams, trying to find the right people to be around me.

AIESEC in my country is doing well, the people around me seem happy, the weather is great (it's snowing) so I have nothing to complaing about. I am planning my trips to the Netherlands, Egypt, Bulgaria, Tukey and maybe Singapore soon..

Watch this space... :)
