Rules of life

  • Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
  • When you lose, do not lose the lesson.
  • Follow the three Rs:
    Respect for self,
    Respect for others and
    Responsibility for all your actions.
  • Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
  • Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
  • Do not let a little dispute injure a great relationship.
  • When you realize you have made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
  • Spend some time alone every day.
  • Open your arms to change, but do not let go of your values.
  • Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
  • Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you will be able to enjoy it a second time.
  • A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
  • In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Do not bring up the past.
  • Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.
  • Be gentle with the earth.
  • Once a year, go someplace you have never been before.
  • Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
  • Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
  • Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

I prefer to make my OWN rules that lead me to a happy life. These however, are a good start especially if you don't have an idea on how to live your life...

Do you know how to live your life? where would you live it? where to play with these rules? with whom?

Very nice thoughts :)
can't help but agree with all of them.
Here are some of the lessons i've learnt in my life though:

1) Don't eat yellow snow.
2) Never run with scissors.
3) Always look both ways before
crossing the street.
4) Don't frighten grandpa.
5) Seeds don't sprout in your tummy.
6) Don't Sweat the petty stuff.
7) Don't pet the sweaty stuff.
8) Leave the flying to superman.
9) Don't take candy from strangers
and
10) Never ever give up on a dream.

:)

@ suraj: thank you for reminding me, no i won't eat yellow snow anymore :)

@ elar: I'm learning how to live my life but i think this the best path i could choose for myself. I'm not sure where i want to live my entire life, but it's certainly not 1 country. As for with whom.. hmmm...I have someone in mind :)

@ tim: you are right! hard to implement! but sometimes it is just good going over them to see what we forgot to implement :)

I was at IC in India last year but I didn't have the chance to go and do the study tour. I left that one for the years and trips to come :)
